An Eventful Fifth Week at BUGS: The Unplanned Workshop Adventure
Today, I'm pleased to tell the exciting story of my fifth week at Bicol University Graduate School. I had no idea that this week would be filled with surprises, unanticipated obligations, and a memorable planning workshop at the Pepperland Hotel.
It all began on a Monday morning when my colleague Ezra and I received an intriguing letter from our mentor, Sir Dan. To our surprise, he asked us to join him in a three-day planning workshop at the prestigious Pepperland Hotel. The only problem? Sir Dan had forgotten to inform us about it in the previous week! Nevertheless, we embraced the challenge and eagerly accepted our roles.
As we entered the workshop venue, our excitement was undeniable. However, it peaked even further when we spotted a small piece of paper on the table. It was from Sir Dan, instructing us to bring specialty and bond papers, along with a printer! Little did we know; this was just the beginning of an adventure filled with surprises.
To our embarrassment, we realized that we were expected to meet Sir John Rey at the office before heading to the workshop. Sir John Rey was responsible for assisting Sir Dan in a crucial video presentation, while Ezra and I were assigned to the front desk to welcome the participants.
Despite the initial hiccups, Ezra and I managed to welcome the participants with warmth and professionalism. The workshop proceeded smoothly, and Sir Dan's guidance made it an enriching experience for everyone involved.
While we were engrossed in our workshop duties, our colleagues Ashney, Kian, and Pili back at the office were not idle. They, too, wanted to be a part of the event and decided to visit the Pepperland Hotel during lunch. Sir Dan had asked them to bring some necessary items and important papers that needed his immediate attention.
After three days of intensive brainstorming and planning, the workshop came to a successful conclusion. We were thrilled with the outcome and proud of our contributions to the event's success.
But our week didn't end there! The next two days were dedicated to transporting old manuscripts to the library. We worked as a team, loading them onto a Bicol University mini-bus before unloading them again at the ground floor of the library. Our blockmates eagerly took on the task of carrying the manuscripts to the 4th floor, where they would be properly archived.
Looking back on my fifth week at BUGS, I can't help but smile at the unexpected twists and turns that filled those days. From an unplanned workshop to manuscript transport, the week was a rollercoaster of surprises, teamwork, and personal growth. It taught me the value of adaptability and how unexpected challenges can lead to unforgettable experiences. Until next time, dear readers, stay curious and embrace the unexpected adventures life throws your way!
